About the iEducator Program

Program Description

In 2015, Michigan Virtual launched the iEducator 21st Century Digital Learning Corps.  The Corps is designed for recent graduates of Michigan teacher preparation programs who want to kick-start their career with a full-time two-year online teaching assignment with MVS.

The development of the iEducator program was a result of Michigan Virtual’s desire to meet the needs for school districts hoping to strengthen their capacity and candidate pool for online and blended instructors.  The iEducators participate in an unique teaching program involving weekly job-embedded professional development, mentoring and one-on-one instructional coaching by lead MVS instructors, and hands-on online teaching experiences.  The second year of the program further equips the iEducators in partnerships with outstanding blended instructors through the MSU Masters of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program.

Our iEducators are not simply certified teachers, but instructors with a proven track record of 21st century teaching skills.  As our first cohort of iEducators continue their paths in education outside of Michigan Virtual, we look forward to seeing the impact they will make for students and districts throughout the state in the areas of online and blended instruction.
